MARKETING

My Background

I enjoy turning my creative ideas into reality.

Currently, I work in an advertising agency as a PR Account Executive. I worked as a Researcher for a year beforehand.

My marketing experience and interests:

- I completed two internships in copywriting and marketing during my junior year of high school.

- After my first year of university, I completed a marketing internship with a London-based energy-petrol company.

- Working as a marketing intern gave me broad exposure to the field. Main tasks included: producing campaigns, content creation and conducting market research during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

- I wanted to combine my interests in psychology and marketing to understand how people view the world.

- We now live in a digital world, consumed by technology where people are constantly active on social media. I would love to inspire people with my creativity and original ideas.

- I hope to make a difference and influence people by modifying the way they view marketing in the digital world we now live in.

See below for some of my marketing work.

MY MARKETING WORK
DURING UNIVERSITY

As the Publicity Officer for the Exeter Asian Society, I had to message over 100 students to get involved in becoming a member of the society and to come to our events. Due to this, I helped increase the number of followers from 600 to 900 in the Exeter Asian Society's Instagram page within 3 months.

In addition, as College Officer, I send monthly newsletters to students in my college. In the first newsletter, I sent to over 4000 students where I had an open rate of 49.6% and a 21% click/read rate.

Similarly, as College Officer, I ran my college's Instagram page. I hired marketing interns to create graphics and marketing material for the page. I helped develop ideas on the types of content to be posted on the page.

I helped increase followers on the college's Instagram page from 0 to 500 within 6 months.

KEEPING IT CLESSY (PODCAST)

During my role as College Officer, I created a podcast for the college where I interviewed guests to promote student and university experience.

Guests range from student leaders, society committee members and staff.

MENTAL HEALTH POSTER

In January 2021 during the 3rd UK national lockdown, I proposed a mental health poster for Psychology students which was then passed to my college (College of Life and Environmental Sciences).

After I was elected as CLES College Officer, I informed the Senior Tutors and Director of Education for each subject in CLES about the poster. They have helped me to advertise the poster in the university/college website and to post the poster around the university campus.

I worked hard to get the posters to be printed, now advertised around campus & buildings.

Hey everyone! My name is Manav, a 3rd year Psychology student and I am the Publicity Officer for the Exeter Asian Society @exeterasoc. I am also the College Officer for the College of Life and Environmental Sciences @execlesofficer.

For the next few days, I will be taking over the @exeterunilife page to talk about celebrating Diwali. This year, Diwali will take place on November 4th. The Asian Society (@exeterasoc) and Hindu Society (@exeterhsoc) have been working closely to organise the annual Diwali celebrations for the university and the local community. This year, the Diwali celebrations will take place on November 14th and is open for all ages. There will be a fireworks display, Diwali stalls (henna, food, Diya painting, etc.) and performances (singing/dances) for everyone to enjoy.

During my takeover, I will be showing you a glimpse of how we celebrate Diwali. You will see a sneak peek of the performances organised by the Cultural Officers for Asian Society Fatima & Hindu Society Ananya, the food we like to eat and examples of films/songs we watch & listen to during Diwali!

After a few days later, I will pass on the takeover to Aneeka, the Publicity Officer of Hindu Society @exeterhsoc, where she will explain the remainder of what Diwali is about and our upcoming celebrations in more detail.

I hope you enjoy our takeover and learn more about Diwali & join us in the celebrations! Feel free to message us on @exeterasoc if you have any questions about Diwali or the upcoming celebrations.
